Sniffero is a shared dog-care log. It exists so the people looking after a dog can see what has already been done. This page explains exactly what it stores to do that, and what it does not.
The short version
- We collect what you type into the app, and nothing else.
- There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in Sniffero. We do not build a profile of you and we never sell or share your data with anyone for their own purposes.
- The app does not access your location.
- You can delete your account from inside the app, at any time.
What we store
Your account
An email address and password, or — if you use Sign in with Apple — the identifier Apple gives us, which may be a private relay address rather than your real email. Optionally a display name and profile photo, so the rest of your pack knows who logged what. Passwords are stored hashed; we never see them.
Your dogs
Name, sex, birthday, breed and photo. If you choose to fill them in: microchip number, license tag, your vet's name, phone and address, chronic conditions, and an emergency contact's name and phone number. All of these are optional — only the dog's name is required.
Care records
The routines you set up, and every entry logged against them: what was done, when, by whom, plus any note or photo you attach. Weight measurements. Health records — vaccination and vet-visit entries with their dates, the clinic, your notes, and any document you upload.
Your pack
Who is in a pack with you, their role, and the invites you send. Everything logged for a dog is visible to every member of that dog's pack — that is the entire point of the app. Nobody outside your pack can see any of it.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, we store your device's Apple push token together with the app version, so we can send that device a nudge. Turning notifications off in iOS Settings stops the delivery; deleting your account removes the token.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your card details, and we do not see your Apple ID. The app only learns from Apple whether your subscription is currently active.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase, our database and file-storage provider. Push notifications are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service. These are the only two companies that process your data, and they do so only to run the service for us — not for their own purposes. Depending on where you live, this may mean your data is processed outside your own country, under the standard contractual clauses those providers operate on.
Access is enforced at the database itself, row by row: a request can only ever read rows belonging to a pack you are a member of.
How long we keep it
For as long as you keep the account. Something you delete in the app disappears immediately for you and for everyone else in your pack, but we keep the deleted record itself — the app works offline, and a record of the deletion is how every other phone in the pack learns the item is gone. If you want deleted items erased outright rather than kept this way, email us and we will do it.
Deleting your account
Open the account sheet in the app and choose Delete account. This immediately removes you from every pack — which cuts off all access to that pack's data — deletes your profile photo, replaces your name with “Deleted user”, and permanently disables sign-in.
Entries you logged stay with the pack, attributed to “Deleted user”. This is deliberate: a walk that happened is part of that dog's history and belongs to everyone caring for it, not only to whoever happened to tap the button. If you want your past entries removed as well, email us at support@sniffero.com and we will delete them.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, export or erase your data, and to object to how it is processed. Most of this you can do yourself in the app. For anything you cannot, write to support@sniffero.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Sniffero is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
